This piece is an improvised duet between a theremin (played by me, SVB) and Basilica Hudson -- the building itself (played by Dr. Roman G. Horst, Sarah Roberts Hale and Allie Young). We performed it at midnight, on Saturday, April 25, 2020. It streamed live online as part of Basilica Hudson's web-based 24-HOUR DRONE event. The original event, an annual festival of sound and music, was not held due to the pandemic. I chose to play theremin as 2020 marks the centennial anniversary of the invention of the instrument by Leon Theremin.

Afterwards, I live-mixed in a 75% slowed soundtrack to a short documentary film that Tony Stone, Miles Joris-Peyrafitte and Maxwell Paparella made of our very first 24-HOUR DRONE at Basilica in 2015.

The result is a one-hour meditation on DRONE and its relationship to the building, Basilica Hudson.

All proceeds from the sale of this album will go towards Basilica Hudson -- the organization. Hopefully in brighter days ahead, it can continue to present programs like 24-HOUR DRONE.
